Kanye West [ft. T-Pain] – "Good Life"
Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 05:47PM
Ye doesn't need my help. And I didn't plan on posting anything Graduation-related, but I couldn't help myself after hearing this. "Good Life" is slated to be the third single off the forthcoming full length. T-Pain lends the hook. Jon Brion does his composition thing—luckily the strings aren't autotuned. Atlanta's Toomp—he made the "What You Know" beat—helps Mr. West behind the boards. All of this atop a "P.Y.T." sample!
Damn, Ye! Is it my birthday?!
Ye's delivery still isn't where I'd like it to be, but you have to admire his almost-smart "blond dyke" one-liners: "Have you ever popped champagne on a plane / While gettin' some brain / Whipped it out, she said said, 'I never seen snakes on a plane.'" If he keeps it up, maybe Kanye will actually make my diaphram quake ever so slightly in five years or so. But in the meantime he'll have to write Galifianakis out of his life completely. It can be no other way.
At this point, I'm pretty much hoping Ye stomps 50's ass on the 11th.
