Donny Goines – "Never Let My Talent Die" Prod. by Disco D

I'm actually making this post to take a break from compiling the latest Bookmarks Roundup entry. It's disgustingly huge—I'm a bit embarrassed. Hopefully I'll get it up in a few hours.

Anyway, I, for one, would have never expected Disco D to get his own backpacker-oriented tribute song. However, I did figure someone would eventually make a bass track, title it something along the lines of "Make Them Titties Helicopter" and _call_ it a Disco D tribute. But D just never struck me as the "proper" tribute song type. Evidently Harlem rapper Donny Goines has different ideas on the matter. "Never Let My Talent Die" is a Disco D tribute produced by the late D himself. Self referentiality never stopped a rap song from happening before, so why should it now?
